Miyaishi, a well-known name in the koi world
Located on a beautiful Japanese house are many sales bins and a large koi house. Owner Miya Kentaro is the brother of another well-known breeder Miya Kastsunori (from Miyatora Koi Farm). You often come across the family name Miya in this world, apparently breeding koi is in the blood of this family. Behind the Japanese house, the traces of the 2004 earthquake can still be clearly seen. The mountain behind the house has partially come down and destroyed the previous house.
Earthquake Proof Mountain
The mountain has now been completely reinforced with a concrete grid. The surfaces within this grid are sprayed full of concrete and are somewhat deeper. This allows dirt and soil to collect in it, which in turn leads to low vegetation. Within a few years, the concrete will be overgrown and completely hidden from view. The mountain will then look very natural again, but has been made earthquake resistant. This is also apparent when I see the vegetation again a year later. Mother Nature comes, sees and conquers. She takes back what is taken from her as soon as she sees the opportunity. In many other places affected by the devastating earthquake, these kinds of reinforcements have been and are being made. Millions of cubic meters of concrete are sprayed against the mountain slopes to limit damage and human suffering in the next earthquake.
